Chapter One :Chapter 1

It was quarter to 6am and the sun is gradually rising from the north horizon. Then, a wavy-haired woman can be seen walking ahead. She's wearing a black coat as a white blouse is covered inside, and a black pencil skirt. Her office fits were paired with 2-inches sandals.

The woman was named after a jewelry as it is what her parents named her for a reason of its great value, so does the daughter, Krystal Maine Jones.

A smile formed across her face when a fresh moderately cold wind collided with her flesh, while her almond eyes are looking at the horizon. She can feel that this morning indicates the greatness of her day, because of the calm and relaxing surroundings.

Today is her second week of being a secretary of the none other than 'the' Glyde Philip Morgan, the CEO of the company she's working on. He's known for managing a successful personal property business, and being one of the multi-billionaires in the world. But hearsay remarks him as a sassy and cold CEO.

Nonetheless, becoming his secretary is such a one in a million opportunity, and she's the luckiest woman ever to be the one to take that seat.

"What a good day to start..." she murmured. With a purse on her hand, she sighed calmly with a smile when she's suddenly reminded by the day she got the position.

She was jumping in so much joy upon receiving the email from the CEO himself. She was in cloud 9 that the look of happiness in her face lasted for about three days. She even had the urge to treat everyone she bumped into because of that news. Well, if only she had the dollars to do so, she would.

Nevertheless, she was the happiest woman to receive that good news. Remembering those unforgettable moments had her thoughts went farther, very far that she failed to notice the presence of a person beside her. But not until she heard heavy exhales just near to her.

"S-Sir!" The solemn smile on her face instantly fade upon recognizing the person, instead, it is replaced with astonishment as she cannot believe what she just witnessed.

'The' Glyde Philip Morgan was just found jogging beside her. She's not used to seeing her boss wearing a sports clothing, since she's just a mere secretary of his, which have her only seeing him in a business suit. So, what she just had seen is such an unusual sight.

"You must have other plans before working, huh?" Glyde replied with his usual baritone and monotonous voice.

Bumping into this woman who's wearing an office clothes at this hour made him think that way, since he knows the fact very well that her job will start at 8am every morning. It was questionable to see her here, but he chose to form a conclusion instead.

"N-No, sir!" Flustered, Krystal replied as she waved both of her hands. She made a quick step to catch up with him, making the heels to make a squeaking noise.

"I... I just happened to w-wake up earlier than u-usual, sir." Her face has started to become red as her eyes avoids the gazes of her boss. She hasn't been in a casual conversation with Glyde and talk about things unrelated to her job, so she felt extremely agitated to make a reply.

But her dilated eyes, widened more when she heard a soft chuckle from him. As far as she can remember, she hasn't heard him letting out a chuckle during work hours. It is the first time she witnessed and even heard it!

However, though, when she tried to cast a glance at him to supposed to be seeing the form of smile on his face caused by the chuckle, it is on the contrary of what she had seen as she only see a blank expression.

Which means, he immediately erased the smile off his face before she could even have a clear view of it.

"Just buy me a carbonated drink. I'll be waiting inside the car." She heard the baritone voice again, making her consciousness to snap into reality.

"S-Sir?" She responded to clarify the words that Glyde have said. Glyde turned his back to face her, highlighting the height difference between them as his head adjusted below. His intent gazes looked at the short woman whose face is red as tomatoes.

"Buy me a drink inside this convenience," he repeated with his index finger pointing at the establishment that is meters away from them. "And I'll wait for you inside my car." He added, with the same finger pointing the matte black car that he had left earlier before proceeding to jog.

Glyde was about to pace his way towards his car when he forgot to mention about something.

"By the way, I don't have any cash with me, so, you know what to do. Rest assured I'll add the bill to your salary." He coldly remarked before going inside to his Porsche. The woman was too stunned to speak.

She did not know how much a carbonated drink would cost, also did not know what drink does her boss prefers to drink. And most importantly, she is not sure if the bill she has is enough for a drink. She is a broke-ass secretary for she hadn't received her first income yet.

But, whatever. She will just pay how much she can.

Good thing, the convenience that Glyde was pertaining to is 24 hours open. She does not have to find more store to buy him a drink.

A couple of minutes later, she found herself inside the cold establishment where various of drinks are displayed on a fridge.

She did not know the preference of Glyde in terms of drinks, so to make sure of his satisfaction— despite of being broke— she bought the most expensive one.

Glyde on the other hand, who's inside the tinted car, trailed his gazes to the woman who is currently approaching his Porsche with a drink in her.

Truth to be told, the woman was not qualified of being his secretary for she's not a college graduate which is one of the qualifications. But of all the people on the queue who wished to apply the secretary position, this woman... Krystal Jones, caught his attention.

He sensed that this lady has a intriguing and bizarre personalities that she might apply on the job, based on her application letter.

He wished to know those mysteries he sensed in her, so he decided to choose her as the one to serve him. And he didn't know that the bizarre personalities that he was pertaining is the woman's shyness, and clumsiness.

"H-Here you go, sir." Krystal handed him the drink through the driver's window, but it accidentally slipped on her hands before Glyde could accept it. Flustered, Krystal dilated her eyes in shock and nervously bowed in 45 degrees to apologize.

"I'm s-sorry, sir!"
